Pumpkin Festival Fun

A few highlights from my trip to Sarasota's 21st Annual Pumpkin Festival...
Pumpkins, Pumpkins everywhere!

Goose Gourds...So sweet and appealing!
My nephew, Nicolas and his friend Michaela, acquiring shaved ice snowcones from a local vendor.

Strawberry delight snowcone in purple flower cupholder.
Randy's famous Kettle Korn

Placid and docile owl, extremely splendid.

Encountering new friends.

Beautifully knitted caps and handmade flower adornments.

My day could not have been more flawless, as I embraced the day enjoying glorious weather,  family and friends and the ever so fun task of selecting the perfect Jack -O-Lantern pumpkin.
Our evening was magnificently as fun as we enjoyed an amazing meal cooked by Michaela's family and last but certainly not least, Kala's fantastic home-made chocolate, peanut butter cheesecake.  YUMMMM!

Wedding Beaubeau

Gorgeous Bride and her beaubeau...A true Inspiration!

So Happy together....
TGIF and Happy Labor Day weekend!

For many women, their hair is their trademark - distressing but true! We live in a pretentious society…

While I’ve not had the pleasure of meeting either of the lovely brides photographed above, I can tell you from personal experience, that these ladies are a true inspiration.
Most girls romanticize what their wedding day will be like. Questions like, how will I wear my make-up? What will my dress look like? What colors should I choose for my bridesmaids and most importantly how will I wear my hair? Who thinks of wearing a wig on their wedding day? Probably not a lot of brides, however for someone suffering from chemo-therapy side effects, medical hair loss or alopecia, that can certainly be a determining factor.

Thanks to Susan M. Beasang, owner and creator of the beaubeau, that is no longer the case. Faced with alopecia herself, Susan opted not to wear an uncomfortable or hot wig. She found many resources for headscarves but none that suited her individual taste and comfort. Susan designed the beaubeau as a stylish and relaxed alternative to wearing a wig.

I discovered the beaubeau after I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last December. Thanks to Susan and her company, she transformed my attitude about being bald and embracing my inner beauty. Not an easy task; as I mentioned earlier, hair for many women is their trademark – I should know!

Before my diagnosis...

Haircut...Yes that is my husband standing beside me with a glass of wine,
but no worries I had one waiting for me as well. He is my rock!
My nephew Nicolas helping me with the spots I missed...
Sporting my beaubeau and flower brooch...
My favorite beaubeau...

It has been a while, actually since February, that I have posted on my blog. I thought this to be the perfect happy occasion to share with everyone. I have been a bit under the weather since my ovarian cancer diagnoses back in December 2009. I have recently completed my chemo treatments and hope to start feeling better everyday. One day at a time I hear. In any case, I promise to get back to posting more often. Best and warm regards...Yvette R. Price
